01What the licence is
You buy a licence to use Foldout, the macOS application. You do not buy the software itself. The licence comes with a key, and the key is how Foldout knows what you may use. The Terms page says who sells it.
02For life
Every edition is a lifetime licence. It does not expire and it does not renew. Every update and ongoing maintenance are included, for life, at no extra charge.
03Editions, modules and packs
Core Edition is the base of Foldout: every other module plugs into it. Each module has its own licence and its own key. A pack is one key that opens all of its modules.
Founder Edition is one key. It opens all 14 modules, today and at general release.
04Activations
Each key activates on two computers. Activating means entering your key in Foldout on a Mac. If you replace a computer, write to support@foldout.so and we will free its activation.
05What you may do
Use Foldout for your own business and work, on the computers you activate, with the accounts and subscriptions you connect to it.
06What you may not do
- Share, sell or publish your key.
- Sublicense, rent or resell Foldout.
- Bypass or tamper with the activation or the licence checks.
- Copy the software, or take it apart to read how it works, except where the law gives you that right.
07The licence service
When you activate, your key, an identifier of your computer and the label of your Mac are processed by Creem, which issues and checks licence keys. Foldout checks again when it launches and from time to time, and is built to keep working when it is briefly offline. Our own licence service keeps only your order and the status of your licence. The Privacy page says what we store.
08Your own subscriptions
Foldout works with AI providers and other services through your own accounts. Their subscriptions and fees are separate and are not part of your licence.
09When a licence ends
A licence does not end by itself. It ends if you are fully refunded, as the Refund page describes, if the order is disputed, or if we revoke it for a breach of the terms.
